hello
I was following this topic and i gave this bassline a shot to understand it better.
I think it is close to the original.
Still dry as i have not yet used effects.. gonna try and make this a bit different than the original.
Its not creative to try and exactly recreate a bassline..but i learned from this On the other hand dont we all use 1-2 or 3 -and all variations- bassnotes between kicks?
I think thats the secret of this bassline, carefully placements (16th's) of -a bit stabby- bassnotes n some effects over a high attack oompha subbass.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks:)

Elad, Ohshit thank you
The original is more fluent and groovy, gonna try to apply some effects and minor adjustments as mine is to choppy i think.

hi,
i've used sylenth1, its internal distortion, some minor eq and a softtube on the bass.
Its made up of 2 main bass sounds. (in the original some more along the way)
1)growling sub bass(saw)every offbeat with a high attack (play with lengt of the frontnote so that the note starts smooth where the kick ends.)
2) find a nice fitting second bass (maybe start from the first patch you made) and experiment with short stabby hits of them in the 16th pattern.Listen carefully on where to place them so you get a nice groove going. try some effects (delay, distortion)...
I think once you get that offbeat growling bass it all depends on what you do with those 16th notes as they will give you the groove and rhythm.
Pay attention on the placement and maybe make 2-3 diffrent tracks so you can tweak and effect them slightly different.
hope i've helped

The key on progressive is that cool bouncing swing between kick and bass.
It looks like the kick fades perfectly into the subbass! And then the bass blurps before the next kick.
Lots of work on envelopes and EQ.
