while all my recordings have a little latency(audiophile soundcard),i delete the empty space with an editor,i have a prob with the basslines.
I delete the empty space, but every hit of the bass exept the first isnt on r8 time, this isnt very noticable but its still a mistake.
I cant undarstand it,if it was just latency ALL notes would have the same amount of latency,so if u delete the first it would be solved.
any suggations? |

chek first if u are using the correct midi channel in both sides , virus and sound card , then if u are using logic or cubase or nuendo etc , chek the midi properties , and if u need try to add or remove some delay compensation in the midi ,

You shouldn't have any lag problems with the Audiophile card. I would also recomend you to check your midi setup. In your sequencer, make sure it runs "M-audio ASIO".

Crapy operating systems like Windows on today's "super computers" mean that you can't have external gear sequencing as tight as the old Atari, or a hardware sequencers like the Akai MPC, Yamaha RS, Roland TR 909...etc. You could say that these machines had a lot less processing to do though, and would be right...
I also have had the same problem with all of my synths (for some reason it was more obvious on the Virus B, SN2, MS 2000, Pulse and Nord Lead...before I got rid of them).
Nothing to worry about though, just go into the recorded sequence and pull the start point of the audio regions of the notes that are off, to the correct place. If you foind it hard to do with the rest of the elemts playing, just enable the click track/metronome, solo the recorded sequence and make things tight.
If you really want the Virus sound and really tight sequencing, get a Powercore, or wait for the new Ti that is supposed to be as tight in sequencing as soft synths.

There's a great Access Virus users forum here, which should be able to answer your every question.
I reccomend it as I've learn a hell of a lot from reading those pages!
