Ok so im pretty new to hardware synths really, never used one before my friend showed me how to make it work correctly on his computer.

anyways im trying to get it to work on my computer.

first off I have a presonus firebox wich only has a s/pdif but it comes with a breakout cable wich i plug my midi into and goes into the s/pdif.

i did all thi,all the I/O plugs are correclty plugged,my midi track in ableton live has my sound card selected as midi out.

still no sound plays off the midi notes i write...i checked all my volumes..al my wires, everything seems to be plugged in right but i can't seem to get any sound coming from the virus.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks.           SPLINTER

I dont have a virus b..

Did you search for the virus manual in the access site?

what is that thing you said about spdif? i dont think the virus has spdif only analog 14 outs.

connect you soundcard midi out to the virus midi in
connect the virus audio out to your sound card audio in.

Try a test tune function in the virus (search the manual)

do you know how to record with your soundcard?

when you transfer midi is the virus response usually there is a "trigger" light on hardware synth.

First of all i would plug in some headphones in the phones out and check if some signal is coming out of the virus.

If you press "edit" & "sync" together in the oszillator section it plays a note and you can hear the preset and check if sound is coming out...

i think you need a extra midi interface to connect the midi in/out with your pc, i don't think that this is working with an spdif slot...
