I just picked one up. Had a couple ???'s about it. I've searched but cant find and answer to this 1.
1. Is the Virus A capable of loading patches from the B, C or other models?
2. Any good websites for psy patch's ?
3 Anyone use it for Basslines?
Thanks in advance for any advice or help on this.

1) I believe it is, but since the B and (especially) the C version has some features not present in the A model they might not sound as intended on the A.
2) I think there are some soundsets on http://www.access-music.de also it might be useful to check http://www.sunesha.nu/virusforum/index.php
a lot of helpful people inthere.
3) Yes I do, but I do not find it very good for full-on basslines (I make deep/minimal trance)

in don't use outboard gear (read: hardware synths) for bass because midi timing under windows in terrible and if you're doing fast 16th notes it's very noticeable.
most vst synths can do it perfectly (midi vst is sample accurate)

Joao, another possibility is use some soft sampler loaded with a lot of customized multisamples (that's, those samples you made from your hardware synths) . But back to the original subject...
AjmaGard already said a lot, but I'd add the Virus A has a DA decoder with 20 bits (B/C has 24 bits), so the Virus A sounds a little dirty when compared to B/C. Anyway, you can find some useful comparison in the following link:

i was giving my consideration on the subject, so i don't consider it offtopic
indeed i could sample notes and cut and paste, but remember that since oscillators dont have to start on the begging of the note i'll be losing most of the synth caracteristics (not to say filter keytrack wich once sent to wav cant be changed).
