Hi, do you think $480 usd is a good price for a mint Virus A ???

Should I buy? I've been checking some online demos, it seems good ._.

Thanks.

Don't know about the prices in the US, but in Europe/Germany you get a Virus A for ~230€ (approx. 330 USD)

I regularly see them for that price, sometimes even less.
2 weeks ago on ebay e.g. one for 230,- and 1 week ago another one for 260,-.

That seems really high to me. There is a virus b on ebay completes right now that went for $393.
You just need to be patient and wait for a good deal, the B is totally worth the extra money.
If you have a knob box the rack version of the B will probably always be the best bang for the buck.

I agree to the above poster. Better get the B which goes for more or less the same price as the A but has a lot of extras.

Well the A model is beginning to show itīs age so make sure that you get one without issues. I honestly do not think that around 500 bux is too much if it is in good condition. These days itīs around 300 something euro, so not that horrible unless you really do not have the money. Hardware costs money, software you can get for free, so itīs all a matter of how much you think you need it. For my part the A comes with my stamp of approval and the raw sound of it easily trumps itīs retarded cousin (Virus TI) Many quite awesome tracks have been made on that machine and it still has that extra something that i reach out for, when everything else fails to cut through. Also be aware that ebay is not always the best place to buy depending on where you are and how friendly your local customs office is. The final price could end up higher once mr. tax comes along. Getting a B for the same money or less would be nice as it has everything the first one has and a little more (plus the edit menus are ordered alphabetically, which is something they failed to implement in the A)           Mastering available here:

I had a Virus B for about a year, and now the TI, it sounds the same to me, which means not great, but pretty good through some decent plug ins, especially filters (the Virus' high pass filter is very average sounding).
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the TI the Virus B with upgraded oscillator section, filters and FX? The Classic waveforms and filters sound just like the Virus B to my ears.

Peace out.

Well yeah the thing with ebay is that I live in Mexico and customs add a lot on electronic devices...

The Virus A im being offered is local si no need for shipping importing fees...

The price is $5000 pesos so it is a little bit less than $480 usd more like $420...

I might buy it if i get some money that is being owed to me.

I don't see many used Virus around here, i was saving for the small snow but the A version could be nice in the mean time.

Thanks for your advice.
