Most of the mailing lists seem to show that Nuendo has particular difficulty with the TI, running Cubase SX3 myself.

For what it's worth, this helped me:

* Fresh install of Windows XP
* Nothing else plugged into USB ports
* Running TIOS 1.09 (Tried 1.09hotfix1 but ended up rolling back)
* Set clock source to External in Cubase ASIO setup
* In TI ASIO control panel set Latency to 'Fast' or higher. (Things just falls apart on lower settings)

About 90% stable with this, only problems is that ARP timing sometimes drifts and once in a long while audio output will be delayed by about two seconds and I'll need to reboot Cubase and the TI.

Killer machine, nothing else sounds quite like it. Well worth the pain.

Hmm.. I'm having plans about buying one in a month or two, but it sounds like many people are having problems with it (According to this topic). I have, like everybody else, fallen in love with the AWESOME sounds it can create, but would it be more clever to wait a few more months and see what OS 1.1 fixes?
The thing that pulls me to buy a TI instead of a B or a C is the plugin integration, and the wonderfull part that you only need a USB cable to have it connected, instead of both midi and audio-cables..

i have had limited problems with mine...

but only because i dont use it has my audio interface and i dont use the remote or vst...

just use it as a pure hardware module...old skool style

works fine! ....will use all the other features when access have it running perfect with no bugs..

i wouldnt say access have lost the plot..its a killer machine, it is worth it.

If you have problems but still want to use it and wait for software update; you could just hook it up as midi device, and not as integrated vsti... this worked for us... then hopefully things will work 100% once there is a proper update.... having said that, it seems that since the time i used a TI, there have been updates and people still report problems....           Cytopia.org

In Windows, try setting priority to "background".

It's in the control panel -> system -> performance tab -> "background"

I'd be curious to see if that clears things up - let us know if it does or does not work.

In Windows XP
Create a batch file that contains:

rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks

It runs all scheduled tasks and turns off the scheduling. It frees up a good chunck of memory and CPU.           www.granddaddydj.com

Marc Schaille from access said some more weeks and we will have a mature 1.1 Version

Im starting to seriously doubt of access credibiltiy on those issues !!

*mutter* can tell you've never tried to develop software for windows *mutter*

Here's the text of Marc's announcement:

---------

I thought I give you a little status update on version 1.1 for the Virus TI.

for a while we found ourselves in a fairly tricky situation. it was
expressed so many times (not by us though) that 1.1 will be _the_ problem
saver for everybody and everything and for obvious reasons that puts extra
pressure on us. "extra" in the respect that it is harder to put out a OS
release which would be "good enough" to satisfy.

in software development, there is always room for fixing and improving
things - and things often takes more time than expected.

OS1.1 was planned to be _just another_ feature update but turned into
something more. if we would have released 1.1 as it was planned back in
december we would have easily made it in february.

the good news is: right now, we are wrapping things up. by the end of the
week we plan to issue a "release candidates" to our testers. a release
candidate is another beta version but from this point onwards to the release
version there will be no further additions.

there has been reworks on many core parts of the virus control, drivers and
the virus TIOS. we have tripled our beta tester base and to be honest, we
have learned a lot.

I think there is a good chance that we will release 1.1 within 2-4 weeks
from now on - obviously just in case nothing unpredictable will happen from
now on. from the release onward we hope to put out versions more frequently
again in order to present you with an improved version quicker.

we have considered releasing a public beta but decided against it. a public
beta which is supposed to fix important problems doesn't help much - unless
you can truly say that it will fix those things. it's still a beta and there
is still a reason why it's not a release build.

with regards
