I definitely second using Ableton Live to do your timestrecthing. I did a rmx of the Exploited's Sex & Violence and Ableton saved my ass... I will have to check out melodyne...

Cut the acapella into pieces (vocal slices) and apply the Melodyne or Ableton for each piece of vocal. I've read this trick on Keyboard Magazine.

Ok but what if the vocal u r trying to timestretch has know set tempo? IE its froma movie and u want it to fit into a certain amount of tiem in ur track, say 4 bars? how do we do that? is it chop chop smapler or are there any other ways?
