Hello sound giants. Somebody can me a tip about how can I edit .ac3 files? I mean not encoding them to stereo wav, but full 5.1 surround editing.
Or maybe is there way to split them to six independent .wavs and after editing decode them to one .ac3 file?
Thanks in advance

Interesting... I think that Cubase should have this option already. Not sure though, never tried.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Cubase SX3 U mean? Dunno, I didn't try this version yet.
Well I use Digigram Multichannel Encoder to split .ac3 file to several .wav files, but it crashes. The output files are 25 bytes each other. Two days I trying to edit one .ac3 file and cannot find any solution

Have u tried using a video application like Vegas?
When I did a surround mix a while back for some ambient film music I used it and it works superbly... very easy to use as well in terms of panning and pan automation. Still it's expensive, if you can get hold of it though it's worth trying

Well I tried Vegas Trial. And it doesn't help me. But I ripped independent wavs with Sonic Foundry Soft Encode, and now I can edit it with Wave lab as usual mono wavs. After that I just decode it with Digigram Decoder an that's all )))
Any alternative ways?           Sea>Israel>Ben-Gurion>Tel-Aviv>Ramat-Goa>Marom Neve
