Bummmer...i was hoping Chris does a good job here in L.A(so that he keeps coming back!!).i was sure ppl would have enjoyed considering how much everyone loves dark/confused psychedellic sounds here...

No, everyone told me he played very well. I got there for Cristoff....But I don't think the DJ's could have done anything to change the atmosphere in that place.....

I agree there wasn't too much that could be done to change the vibe... It was pretty empty and people seemed pretty tired.. Especially for Absolom... Oh well.. Can't win them all... Can't wait for Saturday! |

Well lets just hope this doesnt start a trend. That is when promoters have more than 1 or 2 parties in a single month in LA niether have great turnouts! THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH TRANCERS HERE FOLKS! This has proven itself time and time again. The only problem with trying to correct that is it involves everyone to have to work together. Which doesnt always happen that way. We are not all rich! 20$ or even 15$ can be steep for some. So when you have to chose between A) artist or B) artist the scene suffers. I hope for the sake of everyone that this series of events does not take place again! but if you know the LA trance scene like I do.... I fear the worst.
This does not mean nor do I mean that all parties that happen in a month that has 2 parties is going to fail. A good party is a good party! Nor is this directed at anyone. It is merely a weather forecast .

I am so much looking forward to this Saturday, i am sure it will be fun, but it also depends on us, right?

Kiva is right about a lot of things on his post.
I have been around L.A for a few months now and PSYTRIBE etc. have done an awesome job when there is one BIG party per month. If more than one then its been tough.
Reasons-
1) Not enough trancers.BUT one big party a month brings all those trancers down!!(Suddenly there are a lot of them around:)!!)
2) Artist clash- Everybody has their favorites. if i had a choice i would go listen to every artist!!There are only a certain parties you can go to. So you have to choose.Then last month there was digital talk and Shakta(correct me if i got the second artist name right) were performing on the same night. SAME NIGHT!! Now thats weird and to be honest not fair to ppl like me who would have liked to have heard both but did not even have the choice to because its on the SAME NIGHT!! Psytribe, heavy rotation you have to pleeease look in to that next time a situation arises like that.it just breaks the spirit and divides up ppl as they have to choose.
Finances-Lets face it-its EXPENSIVE to party. With the entrance(20-25 dollars), gas, other substances:). Those are my expenses for a good night!! Lets say 100-200 dollars. Now i am sure thats a very average number for a lot of us. I usually dont even go to a party if i cant cover atleast all these expenses.
The Vibe-lets face it,sometimes the party just doesnt go off. You could blame it on all the reasons above, but then sometimes the VIBE is just not right no matter what. Blame it on the hot chick who doesnt wanna talk to you!!hehehe
Dont worry KIVA, it wont become a trend. Discussing these problems and coming up with solutions is the only way to go about it. LONG LIVE PSYTRANCE PARTIES IN L.A!!
Lets show them on saturday guys!! I havent partied in almost a month and i am going to dance, dance, dance...stomp!!stomp!stomp! If e.t monitors earth on saturday night, he would hear these strange vibrations coming from the North American Continent!! That would be the happy,freaky psytrance family of L.A showing the RIGHT VIBES!!
BOOOOOM SHIVAAA!!
