how do you find the use of them in trance?

many times, when i see movies i can find a sample that is used by a track (Matrix is the king here, GO Matrix 2 - Reloaded)...
do you think they are neccessary in tracks?

i personally do like to put a sample when i write a new track, but im sure many can do good without them

samples are nice if used properly..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

Samples, IMHO, can give certain direction to tracks... Some makes you feel a mystery, others some sort of fear and many an great animation...
Samples are a great tool when used in the right way, they carry a message in a way that no noise can.

Traveller said it best. But unfortunately lately this isn't very common...           ---------------------------------------------

The trick is using those wierd smaples, like in the lone deranger (Hallucinogen), but nowdays most of the samples are not so unique, but it's still nice.           "The Blues is'nt about making you feel better. full_on said it. Samples are to make a direct message of the track, that for other music often is in lyrics.           Ut ameris, amabilis esto.

I dislike that... but recognize that most people don't mind samples much. For me they can ruin a good atmosphere in a track... I guess I wouldn't complain so much but psy artists (especially Israeli - sorry!) misuse samples too much... this is a counterculture, not the hollywood soundtrack express! Just my small opinion however

I agree with travller and shahar. some ppl like to jam a sample with no meaning (Like Atomic Pulse in one of their tracks) and it sorta-kinda ruins the tracks feel. others make superb Judgment on sample usage. take for instance a small and inconsequential sample, "Psycho!". had it not been in the culmination of Infected's Track, than IM's track would be Just another tune.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

When I first listened a sample in trance track , I think it was Astral Projection "People can Fly" it seemed very misterious and interesting to me. But, now when there are too many tracks that have a sample it's not original, of course it depends of the sample......For an instance Promon has really original samples.......
Anyway I like vocal samples in the tracks....

well, i like spoken samples a lot, even if they don't have a really important meaning. but they can be very pushing and powerfull and drive me over the edge.           Something 'bout those little pills - Unreal the thrills they yield - Until they kill a million brain cells - I'm going down to...
