Well i guess u have to record the virus as an audio track anyway, so why dont u automate realtime ..this is what i do .. .. and for later manipulation , there is also an option of finding ur Virus as any other vst'i and editing it's automation , but this myself i have problems with . It acts strange sometimes .. so therefore ... REALTIME .. and make alot of recordings ... with alot of diff automations ...or knob movements ... so u have something to chose among            3ó BooOoM ShanKaRA 3ó

If you are a proud owner of Virus C, don't waste your time on MIDI, work on audio
interface and record it realtime dude!

Peace..

just in case:
you can download a free version of sounddiver at the access-music webpage.
otherwise do it whether via direct recording or via realtime recording midi as was said before.

i recommend you to use the single dump function.
this way you can play a lot with the sound until you like it, then make a single dump and then the sound is safe and cannot be lost anymore, as it is recorded directly on a cubase/ logic track...
from now on, you can go on with twiddling knobs without having to fear the loss of the sound...

i think sometimes it's very usefull and comfortable when you have it in midi as long as possible.
One way to tweak and rec.your controllers is:
select and arm the channel with the midifile;push the rec. Button and move your controllers; When you open the midifile you can see your written controller datas below the matrix editor in the modulation screen.maybe you have to check the controller list.the controller is signed with a *.put it in and now you can easily modify your automation with the pencil tool.
Very simple and usefull.
Hope it helped you
Nice greets

I had the same problem with my Nord Lead and then I found out that I had set the Global Midi Channel to 1. When I changed it to 16, everything was allright. Try this. It's a long shot, but it may help.

digital flow .. are u sure .. u are recording in the good input ????

because .. chek this 3 things first ..

1-midi .. desktop OUT .. virus IN they must be conected like this ..
2-wich output from virux are u connection .. 1 and
2 right ?
3-conect the output 1 2 from virus to input 1 2 or
3 4 from your sound card ... then

select one audio track from the arrange ... for ex audio track 1 ... chek on the mixer .. wich input is there .. to see if its the correct input to rec , then click rec on the chanel audio track 1 ... and REC on the TRANSPORT function( were is the play ,stop , solo etc buttons)

try and say something at least in logic is like that .. the way to rec ... but about the 3 point i told u above .. need to be confirmed because whatever is the program they need to be like that .. correct heh

If you decide to work with midi anyway, here's a VERY helpful link: http://www.waf80.de/virus/controller.html

It's a list of the CC-numbers you need to control the Virus functions from a midi sequencer.

Hey dudes thanks to all, I already find the problem, it was at the system menu (midi control) i found that if i put in "LoPage - SysEx" my synth works with the soundriver (u see what u move in the screen) but cubase dont write any movement, also if I change the function LoPage to Contr, then cubase write all moves.

That list will be very usefull, thx!

Again thanks for all ur posts friends =)
