mmmm maybe u can do things like voting for the artist top ten you want to see , the one who wins the votation , is the one who release the top ten , i think we could do this once a week , the rules are ok , but i think many people r not agree with this so i think in some solutions ... this forum is here for everybody that likes trance , that have this life style , so if i´m an artist too but i dont release my tracks because some reason ... what... i dont have permission to be here ???

well...this is no surprise. this is another example on how the isra team now prefers to solve forum problems, taking the easy way out : SHUTTING DOWN, like they did to the portuguese section.
i can underdstand....its hard, boring, un-payed work...and the team has been the same for a few years, they are obviously losing patience. 
what will be the next step? will ppl have to pay to enter here, maybe?
i respect this forum a lot...it has brought us ( wordwide trance community) all closer together, but this is not the answer.

p.s.: yes i agree, there are many useless users and the top ten section has become disgusting

Well, sorry not to be here before, but the other parts of my life were keeping me too busy.
Basically it was I who inititated the idea of closing the section. I even suggested closing it completely, which I still think we should do.
let me share with you why.
In the past, there were a lot of people suggesting to close the section and I was very much against it. My reason was that as long as there are people who want to tell us what are their favorite tracks are and why (like I really liked to do in the past) they should have a place to do that. Also, I always thought it interesting to see what leading DJs are playing, even if there was something promotional about it, as it was still interesting to see what is coming up and where.
However, the amount of people actually writing what they like and why these days in the section is almost non-existent. It seems more of a platform for trading tracks (a very weird way of passing time, in my opinion, I must say...) and for "deep" discussions like: "killer tops, man" etc. You know what I mean.
As for the other part, it does seem that what most DJs (and everyone is a DJ these days, and most of them non of us ever heard playing, nor will we in the future) post is just future releases of the labels they're affiliated with or tracks from their friends. It doesn't have to be only because they want to promote themselves, with so much music around, this is probably what they listen to mostly, and what they play.
Therefore, I'm thinking that most of my reasons for leaving the section on are gone.
Why not leave it on?
Because it is mostly a platform for traders, which is something we do not like (check the guidelines) and it attracts to the forum the kind of people who are only interested in trading the music and not talking about it. Or only talking about it in terms of "killer!!!!!!!".
Now, I'm not judging anyone, and each can do what he feels and express himself as he likes. But in this forum, the forum we envisioned, run and opperate, we don't want this. We prefer serious deep discussion about the music and what is around it.
On top of that this section requires too much moderating and it brings our moderators to a stage where they don't enjoy the forum anymore, because they have to do negative things and work hard whenever they come in. They have no energy left, and that is something which affects the whole way the forum is in a very negative way.
So I thought that maybe we should seperate.
As I said many times before, there are many other online communities, and it's quite easy to start your own. Maybe people should just start a top ten/trading forum, or join one that already exists (there are quite a few), and Isratrance forum will be left to more serious discussions? Of course people can be members of more than one forum, so there's no problem really.
The community will probably shrink a little, but I think this will be a good thing.
I would love to read your thoughts about this, and then we'll re-think and decide.

yes, i like to post tops from time to time... yes, there are ppl that i regulary check their tops.
but the karma from this section is not a healthy one and seems its effecting the whole forum and most users.

well i love this section and i can give you one reason to keep it open.
i've picked up so many recommendations here, from mostly yellow users by the way, that have lead to me purchasing and supporting artists and labels that i may have not heard about otherwise.
yes, SOME people will use it as a means of finding new tracks to download and that's unfortunate. and whilst i respect the fact that your trying to do something to stop it i think if your going to close down the entire section because of that then you might as well close down the reviews and promotional sections too.
and limiting it for only artists and labels to post... well that's what they have the promotional section for isn't it?
just my opinion.

well Shahar which serious deep discussion can be found on TOP 10 SECTION ?.. for those discussion there is the TRANCE section.
TOP 10 is for ppl who wonna post thier tops... no ?
about its A trading section.. hmm again, with this section and without it, ppl still will trade its not making a different.
why to be negative. ? look on the bright side.. as the user up to me said, u see what ppl listen, and u open to new music sometimes that u didnt knew about it.
I think its very cool.

i think if its only for artists and labels it sould be removed becuse you can go the labes wab site and check it, and its pretty boring i hardly come to it anymore |

i've discovered many new artists through reading the top 10 section. probably a much better DJ now than i'd be without it.

exactly my opinion.
goa has to be about good music ONLY!
braggers just show how cool they are to HAVE unreleased or the very latest material, which is a typically capitalist/ mmaterialist attitude - marketing oneself as very up to date belongs to the realm and mentality of capitalist industry which makes people believe that their value rises with posession. of course this is the step of consciousness the industry want everyone of us to be on in order to have a biiiig market, but underground resistance is strong

I think you should close the section right away. the quality of the section is too low anyway, its a shame cause it could be a very good section, but i agree with the post that Shahar wrote..

well my opinion is that top 10 section need to be deleted. why? becouse traders use it to read about new tracks and then search them try soulseek or dc++ to find them. and even worst when some label owner or artist placed a top, traders read the tracks and then include it them in their top 10's even they don't have the tracks!!!
