Back in the years 1999-2001. When I just discovered Psy Trance Astral Projection & Infected Mushroom Were holly to me. every track that was made by them was a reflection of perfection. Infected's b.p.empire was and still is the best album ever.
now I can not care less about Astral- Amen album is like a bad joke to me. Infected produce this days paternal music.
is it really all about my taste or the previously best artists lost it?

i dont think they've lost it.
sometimes artists go through phases.
often the best phase is when they discover new musical toys and just make the best sounds with them.
then when its time to work and make the standard music to fill an album, they lose inspiration...
i dont think Infected has lost it at all. they have gotten progressively better IMO. but keep in mind they are making DANCE music now, not LISTENING music. for dancing, their work is great stuff. but if you want a philosophical mind-trip, i dont think you'll get it from their latest album.
astral projection, is still making amazing tracks, like Pure NRG etc. but yeah, sometimes I get the feeling that now they stick too much to the 145 psy beat formula. it would be very interesting if they tried new styles. |

I mean. sometimes Infected can make truly pure psy Trance track that will last forever Infected Mushroom - Facing and than make something that will survive only the moment (which is nice track but not eternal) like the I M THE SUPERVISER tracks which are doomed to fade.

i fully agree....
something like progressing from deeply disturbed..imo one of the best tracks ever...to i'm the supervisor..which was..not good frankly...
but how come in the same album they come out with a gem like cities of the future? |

Well, I was just like you about Infected Mushroom a few years back, but then they got so commercial, and Im tierd of it, so I guess I care much less about their music, unlike artists like Shift, Azax Syndrom, Penta, Phyx, etc .. that didnt get commercial, that Im checking their tracks like a hunter..

I know that astral projection was and will be the best at the goa trance scene in israel...
their new music is shit (look at channel 24 on their project's with zehava ben What the fuck!!!! and with knesiyat ha sechel?!?!?!?!)
and we can't forget that the album "Ten" is all remixes to astral projection music.....

infected still rock the scene. with good production and new ideas instead of this new shit that just put as many fx they can in a 150 bpm song. thats noise not music.. |

sundrop you have sayed the right words, plus if you go see infected mushroom live, it still generates this really weird hipnotic dense vibe that very little artists can make when they perform , and infected is number one in doing it.

this days its imposoble to see infacted at nature parties. this kind of comercial trance is not made to be playd there. its less psy to day and more electronic.

Am I the only one enjoying AP's "Amen"? It's not their best for sure, but it still gives me a smile upon my lips (.. as an Astral Projection-lead melody always does...). |
