I've been reading some posts of the redicilious long thread (The mother of all basslines) about basslines.

But isn't it true that most Psytrance basslines are still just regular Tb-303 basslines?

I really don't wanna make it more complicated than it is.
But Audiorealism Bassline or Phoscyon (http://www.phoscyon.d16.pl/) should do the job, wouldn't it?

Apart from Eg's FX etc offcourse.

i ear a lot of people talkin about using trilogy in psytrance but i have yet found a suitable patch in it!

i use it only for ambiant and/or downtempo tracks because of that.

what patches are you starting from?!

just choose one nice saw waveform (no need for a patch, search arround). tweak the filter and the filter env and adjust the amp env to make it fit the kick.

you want a bass sound that has a clean and consistent attack, one that is going to retrigger the oscillator with evry note-on message.
synths that do this are Pentagon, Vanguard, Junglist.....
synths like audiorelaism and muon tau have a great sound but dont have a retrrig function so we call these kinda oscillators 'free-running' in that the oscillator does not get triggered from on a note-on, therefore the attack stage would be inconsistent.

one way around this would be to sample the bass notes from free running osc's so that you have the same bass sample being triggered evry time......if you can be bothered to do that!

I haven't yet found a synth which is also able to produce such tight, fast attack, punchy sound as Audiorealism's bassline and other Tb-303 emulations.

Hydra to me sounds kinda mushy and not very subtle.
