My opinion....
The only reason you recognized the preset was because it was an arpegiator...there are so many artists using presets....and its got nothing to do with being creative or not...a preset is just a starting point...as someone said here sometimes you need lot of tweaking to get where you want sometimes its almost there already...
Every artist in this genre tweak their Nord Leads to exaustion in order to find "THAT" psy lead preset, spend hours on VB1 to get "THAT" psy bassline, and now its lame to use presets??
About copyright off course you can use the presets they are made to be used!! By buying the synth you buy the right to use its presets of course...!!
And when you open a softsynth/use a hard synth you have to start at some place to get to your sound...a preset!!Am I wrong??
How many artists use absynth soundscapes without changing a thing...?so many...!! but of course, if its not an arpegiator it will much more difficult to recognize... |
