About different waves sounds

I know there are some different kinds of waves like sine wave, pulse wave, triangle wave, saw wave and others but i don´t know the difference between them. Specialy their different sounds and applications...
Somebody could help me?

it's a classic nectarios post! i thought i was the mathematician!
but just to add : saw wave sounds like a 303 with the cutoff all the way up (that's what it is in fact). Square wave is 303 with the small switch moved across that most people dont touch (sorry), sine wave is single frequency tone, like a tuning fork.
