Hi guys..I know that it has been asked before but I couldn't find the thread..just a little question on RMS value on the master bus
if I put the voxengo span(or FreeG from Sonalksis) on the masterbus(without any limiting, comp, etc..)I read -10db, -9 db RMS..is this too loud?it sounds ok to me
I can see that commercial music has rms of about -10db but it has been mastered so maybe I push too much the channels?
I use the pure3 option on voxengo span which gives me different values from FreeG..
how much in average to you read on your db meter?
cheers |

With nothing on my master bus and using my RME FF mixer as a reference for levels in dbRMS i usualy sit with about -16 to -14. I am no pro but also this seems fine to me as that leaves quite a bit of overall mix headroom for the mastering engineer. |
