wooot? i wasn't even aware of that :0 i never bought anything off beatport. do other sites have this?
so let me get this straight, any time you buy and album in wav in beatport the price is doubled?

hahaha ye I've never seen a dime from beatport and labels. It's not worth the time to even care. But somebody is making money out there and it certainly ain't the psytrance artists

For psytrance the income from sales on Beatport is definitely peanuts. Especially after Beatport, the distributor and the label have taken their piece of the cake and you've paid tax. Unless of course if you're pumping out tunes every week and consistently hitting the top10 chart... Then maybe there is some pretty decent money to be made.
... And if you're that well-known/famous/productive you'll definitely make a lot more from gigs anyways.
On the progressive house/deep house/tech house/techno/house and minimal scene there is a lot more money to be made, but don't forget that the competition is a lot tougher there. There's literally a tsunami of releases each week and even hitting the top100 for just a few days can be a challenge.
Bottom line: Don't expect to become rich releasing music nowadays
