i made an ep and gave it to a label with no contracts or anything when it started selling it charted top 66-69 at psytrance top 100 on beatport for about a week. do you know an aproximate of sales you gotta have to chart on the top 100? or does any release just gets there

I have no idea about the amount of sales.. on psy is probably less than house or regular trance...
beatport eats a lot on percentages 
in some genres .. i seams like the staff decides to embed freshly released tracks from popular artists right into the top 10 to boost them up. c'est la vie. |

If 65€ is real money then yes. The Martian Arts remix of Man's Mind that I did went to No9 and that is how much I got...puts the whole psytrance sales of Beatport into perspective.

No idea, the only serious cash I ever made was when I was releasing breakbeat records mid '00s and topping DJMag's and MixMag's charts.
Made £1700 in one month from one 12" single only and that's not counting licences for CD comps and PRS money that I was getting every time my tunes where getting played on BBC Radio 1, Capital, Kiss FM...etc.
But then people were still buying records cause they actually wanted the vinyl... instead of downloading stuff off the net.

Im guessing ppl like Avicci, skrillex, SHM, Deadmau5 etc gettin some bigger digits on beatport then the psytrance sales.
Buy a track 3 times and i bet it will rise in the top-lists

i had deals with labels ranging from 10-50% their take. but to be honest, as nectarios put it there is not much real money there. i didn't get to top10 yet on BP but thought it would be a bit more there.

Wav handling fees is a joke.
I know of two people that have stopped buying stuff off Beatport for that sole reason.
