hello guys...

I won 't hide the fact that this topic is ALSO to let you know that Abomination has just released their new album, called INCOGNITO ....
you can have more infos about it on psyshop or of course, http://www.mindcontrolrecords.com website...

But this is for promo material so i ll post more there...

Here , i want to know your thoughts about of course abomination, but also about the new style of trance nowadays....for me, abomination is at the exact limit between "night trance", or even what some people call now "dark trance", and "full on"...and that is exactly why i decided, and i am very proud they have accepted, to release their album...but as "trance lovers", and i m sure that here we have "ALL KINDS" of trance lovers....the "hard" ones and the "melodic" ones...but do you think that by splitting our little movement in groups of subgenre, instead of working all together, is a clever way to survive in this hard times for trance parties ?

And also.....IF we agree that, as exemples, astrix or myself are "melodic", and that azax syndrom or Absolum ( as exemples...)are "hard", and if we agree that Abomination is in the middle of that, would you give me some names of new producers maybe who are also "at the limit" ? because with " 2i4u ", the mind control subdivision for "nigh-full on" music, we are always looking for new talented artists....even if maybe in the near future it would be only on digital...depending on you...

Well....i hope some of you would answer seriously to my questions and not, as usual, fight between you...all tastes are diferent and fortunatly we don't have all the same tastes...that s why it would be cool to have a "clean" topic as i believe i asked some "clean" questions..

thanks for reading !
bye !

I understand why compilations tend to feature the same vibe and style... but for artist albums it is a little boring to hear 9 tracks all with the same production and BPM. Why not ditch the overly specific sub-styles and produce albums that reflect a journey through trance? Personally I'd be very curious to hear you guys make some psytrance at progressive tempos or float some freestyle beats near the end. Mixing hard/twilight/night full-on and morning/melodic makes for a more dynamic listening experience! I speak on behalf of those who have "all the same sound is dull" taste... beyond that, I'm just interested in good creative music in whatever form. But hey, do whatever makes you happy!

I'm guessing that this kind of music is aiming at people that are either (bedroom) DJs, or people that just want 9 tunes of the same style...it is my experience that people who like prog music, also like a bit of techno, bit of psy-trance in the 140s...etc. People that listen to this stuff, are more focused on this specific sound, and would rather have 9 dancefloor tunes, than waste time with stuff they would not play.

Personally I do not like the 3D Vision sound, the stuff that people call dark/full on, hi-tech...whatever and for the sake of keeping this topic clean, I will keep my reasons to my self.
But I do agree that splitting our little movement into subgenres is not helping anyone, besides anal, internet forum nitpickers that need to come up with a new name for every little thing that (they feel) sounds different.
Using record label names to define a sound, worked fine in the '90s, but somehow people felt its not working today...could it be the piracy issue, with a lot of people not knowing what label a tune is on when they downloaded it off soulseek? can't say really.

Peace.

Hi,

I agree with the fact that each parts of the psytrance family have to work together but i think that without all this subgenres the movement would have died for a long time. This is just a natural evolution and the new sounds are the newborns...There will be always a gap and a (relative off course) incomprehension between the children and the parents, beetween modern and old musics ect...The tones of fighting topics on isratrance illustrate it perfectly. the point is that each parts have to respect the others, but it's not really possible to avoid the "splitting phenomena".
Personnaly i don't see a limit beetween "night" or "day" trance, it's completly subjective...Psychedelics and psychedelic music are ambivalent by nature, everything depends on your state of mind...That's why this music is so special.
I understand your point of view but honestly i'm not sure that you'll join all kinds of trance lovers on this one. The kickbass sounds "hard" but the energy is "melodic/trancy", i mean, this is a kind of subgenre he he..(like yabaï records, Phatmatix, neuromotor ect..)..The sound which will make everybody agree does not exist yet, but i hope to hear that one day.

Anyway, sounds cool so all the best with this new release!

dont like much of this hard full on style... too much formulaetic for me, of course, some tracks by some artists are well done, but mostly not for me.

their first album was truly wicked... the second album was pure shite (hell 3 of the tracks were extremly bad remixes they did to their own tracks) - if there are samples available id like to listen - but if its anything like their 2nd album... its back to the same bag as (sadly) most of the 3dvision artists/sound
