Hi mates...
today i just installed a copy of ableton 804 here...and at first i noticed some crackles that isnt so normal when im using fl with same equipment setup (echo audiofire 2)...but that isnt the big problem...
i was trying to recreate the beggining of a track i started on fl into ableton, and, even using same vst and sample, i just cant make the kick and bass in ableton sound the same as it was in FL 9. In Fl its soundind much better, dont know why, and the most noticeable thing is the kick, in fl its much bright and sharp, but when i load SAME sample on ableton, its just looses life, the kick becomes a lot more bassy, souding incredible different...is this normal or what?

another thing is that ableton is fucking crackling here, even with 10% os cpu usage only playing kick and bass, the machine is not the problem, my machine is good and i didnt had these craclkes when using fl, i really wanted to move to ableton but this is frustating me pls someone give me a light
another funny thing is that, if i bounce the kick and bass loop in fl, and load it in ableton, it just sound the same as it was in fl, but if i only load the kick sample in ableton it sounds really different

I would check your audio settings...and make sure they are comparable, the crackling might be something to do with the buffer size, or maybe the sample rate is at 44100 in ableton and 48000 in FL or something like that

hey mate...both are 44100...
i cant just understand, if i bounce the loop (kick and bass in fl) and open it in ableton, it sounds just ok, the same, but if i only load in ableton the kick sample and open the vst with the same preset i used to record the loop, the kick sounds really different dont know why, and yes i wasnt using any fx while recording the loop to do the test

what is causing the cracling is most likely your output buffer size.
go to "options" -> "Preferences" -> "Audio" . click "test tone" and turn "CPU usage simulator to 80% and change the output buffer until the cracling disappears. |

thank you will try that now!!
any ideas why my kick sample is sounding different in ableton than it does in FL? in ableton it just loses its sharpness its a lot more bassy than it is in fl

i just noticed that the problem is not with ableton at all. When I open the sample on wmp the sound ok, but if i load them on ableton or in a new project of FL they sound bassy and i can see that the waveform is a little different than from what i saved. But then, if i open the sample in my current project on FL it just sound ok....damn it dont know what more to do

this is how the waveform is supossed to be:

and here is how it looks if i open it in a new project in FL (other than the project i actually created the kick) or in ableton

hey i just figured out what was the problem...some kind of auto-edge fades that was turned on...
anyway....the crackling problem persist, but i think it has to do with the echo audiofire asio driver...when i use ableton with my pc speakers it doesnt crackles, but if i m using my monitors with my audiofire, even with just 20% of cpu usage it does some nasty crackles...and, to get worse, the echo audiofire 2 dropout from nowhere, (in both daws) i think it has to do with windows 7 compatibility cause when i had winxp the echo never did that to me
