hi ive been running ableton live lately and it is very slow after i create about 5 tracks in the first sequence very slow it starts cracking the sound and is delayed , i tried to freeze the tracks but that only helped a little bit, i erased mostly everything i dont use on the desktop to free up space because it sometimes says its using upto 50% of my comp, restarting the program is the only thing that helps till i create more samples then it starts to do the same thing .

my comp

increase ur buffer setting to something bigger, and try that out??? are u using version 6 or seven, be more precise, i know 7 first version was a cpu hog plus i couldnt get my buffer to 48 i believe which was possible with six now the latest versio of seven fixed it...
if its six u got then as i stated increase buffer, that oughta fix it but it will increase latency obviously if all fails then i think its ya cpu its outdated,or too limited my 2 cents... if that ya case i recommend reason or Fruity loops those two are good with minimal set-up live not really its actually a bit of a hog plus if ur using 3party plugins can also bring the cpu load over

512 of Ram really ain't gonna do too much for you at all.... I used to try to do live sets from that and it would glitch if I used more than 2 tracks for audio... bite the bullet and put some more ram in it. I bought 2 gigs for my machine and it only cost me $100 bucks... Now the thing runs pretty decent. Live is definitely a processing whore, but trying to do things on 512 ram will really frustrate you.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

yer..sounds like a ram/buffer problem..or/and even the wrong warp mode..try different ones and read the manual wich one fits to your sample..complex mode is pretty ram hungry..you can even try to activate the little ram button..then it streams out of your ram and not from hd..but get more ram soon and youl be fine i guess..

good luck
