If i have recorded wave and i only want a piece in between a specific range.
In FL i just slice that range of the wave, and click on that sliced piece and select "make unique".
Then i have a new .wav file.
now,,
How do i do this in ableton?
DO i have to record that specific range over in ableton?
because i'm using rewire and i only want my 8 bars pattern to record 8 bars to my audio 'FL in-channel' in ableton then STOP.
but i have to stop record manually and then i have longer wave(than 8bar) so i want to cut the last part so that i can have a PRECISE wave.
nothing like make 'make unique' wave in ableton? as with FL
just to make myself more clear;
i know that i can cut and use that piece as unique, BUT only as part of the bigger one.
i dont know if i can use better english(my 2nd language) to explain myself here.

I think once u've marked the in and out positions of the wave that u want, u must consolidate, freeze and flatten.
Someone please correct me if i am wrong.

Yes right spook, consolidate is the command to make unique that part of wave you choose..
if you want phisically find that wave, is in /your ableton projectSamplesProcessedConsolidate..
same for freeze.
One trick:
if you freeze an audio or midi file, just drag the file or the pattern to a new audio channel and you have the processed wave on stage(only volume changes it's not change, if you need to export "what you hear" that channel, just render that in rendering options..

thank you so much,, i see what you mean.
Is the consolidated wave always at maximum volume db to zero.. other words,, maximized?
it's not a major problem. it would be nice to have it at original volume.
anyways, thx again. I understand 100%
A (more important) Question of a diffrent nature:
IF i sample a pattern in FL, with EDISON, and place that wave in Ableton,, it sounds slightly different (to my ears a lot different) , than to record that FL pattern, in rewire, to ableton..
EVEN, to listen FL through rewire in ableton is different...
DO anyone know what i mean?
i can post examples
if anyone cares,, just ask, because i care a lot

now it sound the same.
edit; i started to make samples to post here to let you hear the difference but listening both samples through the same player(winAmp) they sound alike.

U could also freeze and move the freezed section to a new audio track. then u dont need to flatten, and u still have ur midi intact, i do it all the time on my vst synths, so i don't have to load up a new midi track.
Ohh yeah. fiddle and boom. Ableton addict :)
