Hi,
I'm thinking about buying Ableton Live as an additional sequenzer for LiveActs but probably (if I start to like it) also for composition, later...
I see that there are two versions, "suite" and normal.
The "Suite" edition is more expensive and contains a couple of instruments and samples...
I wonder what you opinions are about those instruments. Are they worth it?
Softwarewise I already have NI-Komplete, UAD-2, the spectrasonics line, predator, alchemy... So I believe I can live without the stuff that comes with the "suite".. but maybe their integration is so cool, or they have something special?
I'm a bit too lazy to install the demo an dig all the plugs, so I appreciate your opinions
Thank you

hey
the suite contains the same "built in machines" as the normal version, but some more livepacks.
that means you get some more samples, loops, presets for your existing machines from the ableton.
that can also be a reason to pay much more money, but is not that important in my mind. you can get lots free livepacks online. and maybe you have an already existing sample library...that can be very usefull when using live, even if its just for the stage.
a bit tricky...i guess ableton says that you get more instruments, but you don't ! just the stuff for the instruments...
but IMO the normal version is worth it !!!!! i use it for procuding and live stuff, great concept, good workflow

you're wrong radioactive.cake, The normal version of ableton, only come with Impulse, simpler and drum racks.
The suite contains all others instruments: Collision, Tension, Operator, Sampler, Electric & Analog. So it's not only "money for presets"
Thought I don't like these instruments and only bought the regular version + Sampler that is very handy...

Operator = must have
It is the SOLE reason I'm in Ableton. |
