Can LIVE be used like Cubase SX?

yeah fella, after the version 4 and then they added the midi and vst support, making Live competitive with every other sequencing and writing software, in my opinion the best choice. Live version 3 and before had no midi support, so was more intended for live performance mixing only wave blocks.

i dont know what do you mean exactly with 'one shot' samples but i make music combining midi and audio tracks, like any other music writing software such as cubase or logic audio.

Ctrl+Alt+i: show or hide the 'ins/outs' in session view. Maybe it's an obvious one, and there's even a button for it, but I always find myself using the shortcut.
F12 is a fuckin wicked one that I hadn't been using.

I mean... I still get confused working with "one shot" samples, like snare. I usually make a loop(1 bar for example) on Cubase, and then import on Ableton Live to play with it. I donīt make the loops using Ableton.
And thatīs what I miss here. Cubaseīs audio features are soooo good that I canīt quit them!

is there anyway to change it to use something else instead of "ctrl+1"?
for a function to use so often, its not really convenient |

theres nothing you will miss if you migrate to live 5,
at first i also missed the stretch and reverse tools, but there are the same audio tweaking options,

i think not ;( but i found those binds very, very usefull,
you cannot change the grid resolutions by mouse, only through the keyboard

and it still does brother, when you've got the pointer focus in the tempo box.
