Hi... what do you Ableton users can tell about this? I've been comparing Cubase vs Ableton rendering same VSTs i almost can say Cubase is shinnier.

I don't want to begin DAW war... just to know what is your experience because i find ableton little little dull when rendering.

Which version of Ableton are you using? I haven't done any comparisons, but technically Live 8 was supposed to fix a lot of rendering problems that were present before.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

What about choosing "No Dither" on Live render?

Yes, Cubase many times sounds shinner with compared to other DAWs. I dont compare C5 with Live8 but now, when im user of Live8 i can only say that i dont find anything bad in rendering. rendered file sounds same like unrednered, played in Live.

I don't agree with:

"rendered file sounds same like unrednered, played in Live. "

Live sound pretty different at the mix than when rendered imho, most daws do.

What exactly sounds better in a track rendered with Cubase compared to Ableton? I don't have Cubase to test it, so I'm curious.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

I'd be willing to bet that people who say rendering is inferior in Live 8 have warping turned on all of their clips, which under most circumstances doesn't need to be on.

There are a lot of artists who have produced their whole albums in Ableton and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference just by listening.

It was dither. Thank you... now i got same quality than in cubase... but if i look close to waveforms they still look a little different one from the other, nothing i can really hear tho.
