so did it freeze up and stop making sound or what?

I hate when a DAW crashes and it starts glitching.

part of the reason i rather play backing tracks from cd and add synths from hardware gear..
and yeah the fact im not master in ableton as much needed to actualy do something better then dj mix and adding some small fx and loops with it..           www.sattelbattle.com

for this reason I have a backup cd playing during the liveset..if computers crash, switch to cd...
just one time I need to play over CD, when the sound guy, tell me a different voltage of power at stage, and burn my audiocard power supply!!

it always has a plain B! the sound can´t stop!           www.psychowave.net

wich soundcard do you use? sounds like a driver problem with your device..

maybe a simple reload has solved the problem..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

I actually always hook up my little sansa clip MP3 player to my mixer, and use that for a backup in case my laptop crashes. It's easier to put my newer material on it instead of burning CD's all the time...much smaller too.           Keep The Faith,

There's your problem.

Sorry, couldn't resist. That sucks to have happen, but props to you for having a back up plan. Most people woulda just been f'd. Was it a legit copy of Ableton- I know it still happens if it's legit, but I'm just curious?          http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

Can personal stress and nervous bad vibes influence computers??
It fuses lamps!

Now seriously, Mac should be more stable...
And a simple track playback doesn't consume many cpu resources.
Even if you have some midi controlers or live synths..

If you have a legit copy of Ableton, maybe you should report that faillure to Ableton, or write down on Live's forum.
And see if that's common.
