Offline processing is available. Just freeze the track and copy freezed clip to audio track. |

what is the need for offline when you have Deep Freeze?
there is a great thread on the ableton forum called 'Stuff in Live you wish you figured out a long time ago'. check it out:
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=56637
for me there are a few things which are crucial which Ableton have neglected. i use Live for 95% of my work, and am running Reaper for the rest. but please, Ableton, please:
- automation curves. even though straight lines in automation lanes produce curved output, it would be so fucking nice to be able to draw curves like in every other program ever made.
- i never had any problems with MIDI timing (Live 6 & my virus talk together happily!) but the MIDI editor is shitty imho... in Cubase you can drop lines / curves of notes really easily, and mangle MIDI patterns more interestingly and efficiently.
- native surround support... trying to keep track of send levels and aux busses is pretty hard work
other than the absence of these three crucial features, Live 7 looks pretty good... will be interested to hear whether the audio engine improvements really do make a difference. and multiple automation lanes is an excellent idea! |
