yeah I think it should be centralized as well. there were talks of minnesota. youd draw like 1000 there easily

1000 ravers ...
|
|
+100 or so psy freaks... sounds like an absolute blast and a ton of message board complaining afterwards...
|
|
The Minnesota rave scene has a huge potential for future trancers..it just needs the proper guidance which the AUM festival will give for sure..
and it wont be horrible not to lose money by increasing attendance levels for a change..
it would be wise to let go of the self righteousness held by majority of the trancers imho
we are all sinners in some form or fashion..
|
|
Just to be clear, I was not bashing ravers. I was saying they are fun to have around... Plus, they come off as far less entitled which is a definite plus...

glad to see it happening again, but yeah isnt it being on the west coast, kinda counter productive to the intial concept of the 1st gathering
personally i think it should be in like TX or something

that's what im saying... hard to try and get out to west coast for many of us. if this was in a more neutral part of the country, say in the middle, like MN, KS, AK, or TX, it would be much easier for people from the east coast and Midwest to get to AUM...
will do my best though!

Well I am super excited about this. It would be nice if it was more of a central location but I think having it in California will be nice as well. There was a venue in Texas that could have been used but it would be REALLY friggin hot. We are use to that but other people.....Not so much. Then again everyone seemed to handle it in Arkansas but we did have the lake.
Anyways I'm sure if you get your plane tickets soon you can find decent airfare. See you all there!

A flight to San Fran is about the same as Asheville, Austin, or Bentonville from here..

indeed sozeee in fact to fly to san fran is often way cheaper too since its a much more common destination. In order to get to the gaian mind fest the cheapest possible way i rented a car drove 7.5 hours to sf airport then flew then on the return i took the bus 12 hours from san fran to eugene...it was still cheaper than flying out of eugene.

First of all, who the hell wants to go to Texas in the middle of the summer? As opposed to California, where everyone wants to be. Secondly, in addition to the hundreds+ trancers in Cali, there is a LARGE group of burners/ravers who are really cool out here, and are just being introduced to the trance scene. I'm sure many of them would be very interested in attending, so promoters do not have to lose money, and we can spread the love of trance. Third, California has perfect weather and no humidity. Fourth, as FaceHead pointed out, "to fly to san fran is often way cheaper too since its a much more common destination" What more can you ask for? REJOICE!

Is someone could tell us which is the closest airport it would greatly help in the planning aspect.
San Fran/Oak/San Jose
Sacramento
Reno (yes this is closer to N. Eastern CA)
L.A./Burbank/San Diego
So many to choose! AHHCKKK!

I think aside from any transportation issues, I think the fear with having it in California is that it won't be significantly different from any other California parties/festivals. |

wow... i wonder how you would feel if someone from another state expounded on their feelings about how great their state was in comparison to california? someone from like, say, texas? or new york? or iowa, for that matter.... or said something like "who the hell wants to go to california period"? not that i would be a person to say such a thing, i'm just wondering how you would feel.....
