i think you can work anyway you want.. but its important for the mind that you try different methods and not just stick to routine...

I start with rolling one, then smoking it, then smoking another one (repeat until you passout). Wake up the next morning and voila!! you have a new track on your comp |

I`ve asked this in another thread but i think this topic is more suitable for this question...
Before you start producing a track, do you have a fresh and solid idea of how the track will be? Do you have a bright image of the track you will produce, and than you try to recreate? Before you start producing a track do you already have the big picture of it?
Or you have a theme idea or a just a melody, starts with kick and bass, and while producing the track you develop experiment and test incoming ideias, what sound to put in what place etc?
