i am trying to force myself to switch from FL 5 to cubase and i have this difficuldity. When in frutiy loops i can create, let's say, 8 different loops/themes and put them in seperate patterns. now when i arrange the song progresion etc, i just take what i need from them, create new patterns and draw it all in the song mode. but when i work in Cubase when i create one pattern and then want to create another i have to move the first one somwhere to the right, and then when i create the third i have to move the first two more to the right, and then when i begin creating a song i have very much confusion and lose where is what.
i'dont know if you got what i wanted to say, but if anyone understands my problem here, please say what's the easiest way to deal with this |

I too understand... I moved from Orion Platinum, which is a pattern based sequencer to Logic, which is an object based sequencer... One of the things that helped me make the conversion is by color coordinating my sequences. The sequences that go together get labelled the same color... I am not certain if this will really help you as much, you can try renaming your patterns or something like that, but unfortunately like s0ft said, it is something that you will just have to get used to.
