Crap, man that sux, and I didn't hear this story from Marko... I thought you just never even came. First off I am amazed (and you should have been also) that this random guy offered you money to play at a free party in an experimental location! For sure if I see him I will shake him down!!! But I think your paranoia was your worst enemy. The Rog (BIKE factory) is not dangerous, yes there are some drunken weirdos there, but they are far more comedy than anything, and there is actually internet in the building. You had no other contacts in Ljubljana? We were waiting for you, and could have very easily met and given you a good place to sleep. Always have more contacts than a single "promoter" you don't know and that you don't have a second opinion of. Always get travel money in advance! This can happen ANYWHERE!
The party was small but fun as I expected. Its great the support I get from the public there many of whom have become life long friends. I played 3 times opening, middle, and end of the party until the generator ran out of gas and the die hards were still begging for more! I had spent a lot of time in the ROG last year and thought it a very interesting place with massive artistic possibilities. The new performance hall was only recently added, and no where else in the world can you find something quite like this. Imagine a giant free art space with multiple, multiple large floors and rooms that the police will actually let you use and isn't zoned to be a shopping mall.
I don't respect blanket comments like "think twice before you go to Slovenia" I could tell you 50x worse stories from actual dangerous countries. Slovenia is a beautiful hidden gem, with its fantastic virgin nature and warm hearted people who mostly speak English well. Next time try to see more than the ROG.
Sorry If i don't sympathize to much, and that I had to get in here and defend some for sLOVEnia.
I wish you better travel experiences in the near future, and remember the boy scout motto,

hey chromatone,
as i said, i am not attacking slovenia just these people. i too really dug the country and the vibes last time i visited wich made what happened this time all the more disapointing.
also, perhaps i could see the ROG your way if the people would let me feel a little bit more welcome. i agree that a lot of it was in my head, but it got into my head because i arrived at a foriegn country and did not recieve the care and respect i thought i would.
still, even now i can agree the ROG has the potential to be quite unique and indeed there is nothing like this underground vibe elsewhere... all i am basically saying is i was hoping for a little better hospitality and not to be left to make my own opinions without anyone to give some good vibes and balance...
you mention the people there are good and the drunks are not harmful.. but i as someone coming from another place don't know this... i don't know these people and what i see is what i precieve... this is why the persoal treatment by the person who brings you there is very important, to make you feel welcome and secure - and this goes for anywhere one goes to play in the world.
anyways, i hope some day to have a chance to again correct my opinion on slovenia, because honestly this place is very intresting for me. i was also looking forward to meet you when i have been told you will be there.

this is how things go sometimes.
70% of all parties are illegal if not more and many of them are organized by people who cant even look after themselves.. Shit happends for a reason, better get used to it.

Well its not the first time it happends, and its for sure not the last time either, i guess most of us had an experience like this before, and if not, just wait and see, it could happend to anyone. And whining about it on forums wont solve the issue... sorry
We are playing at psytrance parties, most of them underground... This aint no MTV Music awards, so shit happends and will continue to happend. Im not naive and i sure not a part of "fuck everyone". I guess im just beeing realistic becouse things like this happends alot.. its nothing new and it will continue to happend from time to time.. its sad, but its how things are. Come back to reality dude. Wake up and have a look on how things are, if you want to make a change, this aint the place to start.. |

your experience is a pity, but as said before, it can happen in any other country too...
just wanna throw in some nice words about sLOVEnia...
everytime i played there, i was welcomed really friendly, i met a lot of very nice people there (and like for chromatone, some of them became like lifelong friends for me as well)...and i enjoyed my stay in this beautiful country every single time...
and now, when i come to ljubjana i feel kinda home....
only thing i can say to any of the artist, that are now maybe thinking of staying away from sLOVEnia, don`t do so.....
support the trancescene in this country, go there, play there and have a great time...
its sooooo lovely.......
and keep in mind, this is tha east.....

COMMON MAN, what are u saying!!! ARE U CRAZY? how did u even get to that conclusion. Remeber monday? When we chatted? We were chatting on whats up in Slovenia and what is happening there/here (monday). And how long u havent been here. And u checked for a ticket on the net. It was last minute ticket, cheap, that we could afford at the moment. So we decided to see eachother, and that i can now get a place for party, if u come. But the plane ticket was for the Wednesday, right? so we said lets call it a Last minute party! And because we couldnt chose the timing of flight we chose Saturday for party night? in satturday, so not even one week notice... (cause of other events in the hall)! Remember?
Uve agreed! I ve told u, that at that time, i dont have more than 200 eu in my POCKET. u said its ok, its great, ticket is 300 $ and u miss Slovenia and wanna meet us again, that now u know better than last time, what we wanna hear and stuff, and u even said if i promise. AND I SAID I DO! U even doublechecked with Naveen, right? All good! so in wednesday u arrived, right? the reason i couldnt come to pick u up by myself, is cause the show starts at 22h and u came at 23h and i was the only one working there (the stage, the mix, recording, visualisations, plus the equipment is mine, and noone else dont even know how to handle it). - i told u all about it on the phone, and sending u links before ( www.tovarna.org ).
3 times your flight landing changed and i had to send a friend ( who owns private taxi company and works ocasionally as a driver for RBS productions) to pick u up personally (as promised, during chat and on the phone, i told u, if i dont come, somebody will wait u there).
The thing is, u ve arrived arround 23h (instead 20 45), i couldnt have any other way, then to temporarily (during the night) invite u to the show and prepare a room for u there, at the factory, (the room that Knez, founder of the band Laibach grafitied and turned into instalation of some sort, so the stains on the bed are from paint and really maybe the dog pooed... but, you had your own keys and toilet with clean, running water, was 5 meters from the room (next door from exit, through which u passed) and there was a shortage of electricity, cause the city cut it off. But, there is a generator for the time being and poor lighting is because the concert hall takes a lot of electricity. Sorry, ghettotech, but we do have WIFI)
But u were in no danger, cause the same guy, Knez, was there in next room all night preparing for the exhibition he had next day. We all knew u were there, and on the entrance there is always security guy (which u had to pass), plus we were all like 30 meters from you (the whole 1000 ppl big concert hall... man, i dont even understand how u missed it? And in it, we were all there, waiting for you to wake up).
i also invited Shanti and Chromatone to meet with you as well as to come to the jamm session.
About the jamm.
Wednesday is for free artistry. Anyone can play and sing. Till that night, noone was ever sick on that stage. Mostly ppl say, they re the best jamms in the town.
What happend with the girl (wich we all know very well from before) was, she got sick during the show, and when we asked her what is wrong, she answered she needs to rest a little, so she can stand up. but when she couldnt, we helped her off the stage (btw shes ok, she has a room on the other side of the stage wall, where she went to sleep and says hello to you, and not to worry about her). She didnt passed out, cause she was talking with us all the time...
Seccondly u are totally missing the concept of the factory ROG and the term of temporary usage. What u call squat is actually a place for artistic creation of all sort. Its a space dedicated to freedom. Culture, Art, Humanity... Maybe u should read where u going before u came, i ve sent u all sort of links..So, no sleeping there (except sometimes if related to project).
Please reconsider what u said about people, u didnt even meet...
OK long story short. U came from Telaviv to Ljubljana arround 23h, when we saw each other, went to sleep arround 1 30h (last time i saw u) and when we checked up on you (arround 6am), the bed was empty.
Thats like 7 hours. And 3h that we were together.
At first i thought u went to see the factory and was looking for u, all arround, security didnt see u (they change arround 5,6am), i even took a bike there and checked if u went for coffe in the citty. Your phone wasnt available. I was checking all day (cause ur phone dont work in slovenia), called shanti if u and chromatone met and went together or something, checked in the studio if u were there, and finally when i already wanted to call the police, i ve managed to get the signal.
Your sister answered and said u re taking a shower?!.... in Munich!!!!... common man, Munich?
Thats like 2 countries away... no i didnt check there...
and u already said u have the ticket changed to go from munich to home. What the f...ck?
So its how i found out what is happening. I remind u, i saw u for 3 hours and then u were gone and left me here without notice and i still have the money in the same POCKET!
Plus, yes, generator made suicide on the day when all weekend happening should begin (its a bit stressfull, but we managed to replace it in the last moment). so now u need the plus money (which i didnt have in pocket and told u so) and the generator is broken. Ok, we agreed that we will try to get it from the event. But the problem was, that i didnt have any idea if the generator can be repaired, and without it i cant get the equipment working, so no generator, no party.
The day (Friday) when u phoned me every hour, was because u said u were in downtown of munich and didnt have enough batteries left on the phone. and every hour i ve been driven from repairman to repairman, which were telling me what is or isnt wrong.... and i had show at 22h and at 18h the generator was diagnosed broken with 14 days of waiting period for spare parts (500eu).And you were in Munich needing 100 eu more!
Its when we last time heard eachother and it was the moment, when i didnt have other alternative than to cancel it. And u also said, that u cant change plane tickets anymore. So we said, were gonna hear eachother, for all the details with payment and canceled the show. I was really in a bad mood...
So we went back without generator.
But on the way back we stopped at fire department, where ive (after 2 hours of arguing) managed to rent some old piece of shit generator (which already exploded in my face). So at 20h we had electricity, and could try to start the event. You said u couldnt change the tickets, so it was pointless to call u, thou you were welcome at any time. From then, ive been working till Sunday afternoon with only 2 hours of sleeping, and we even had a party that day (just without Faxi, unfortunately).
Cause the show must go on!
But remember!
We were all waiting for you, and the money is still here for you, you totaly suprised me/us with your dissapearing, there wasnt even a chance to give u the money.
Bro lemme tell u something else,
Im organizer when i organize,
I invited u as a friend, remember?
I agreed to pay for ur plane ticket cause i wanted to see u.
We make our own little party, remember?... (u made it international)
U were planing to be here 1 week, so we would have enough time to check everything.
( last time u were here u went after 7 hours as well, into Munich as i remember).
And guess what, i also have a recording studio that is not in ROG factory, where i can and am producing and recording, so maybe that too could be a step into your way, make some recordings and be creative... afterall i am an audio engineer. Shame u didnt manage to stay awake for one more hour on that jamm session. U would meet chromatone and maybe record some good stuff together.and all things would be different.
He came, and played good.
But what you did is, you really dissapointed me.
To say that we are fake, and then run from a dirty bed...and u call ur self true?
Sorry man i didnt want your expirience to be so hard.
But get this.
Show must go on!
ME and YOU, WE were making the agreement. The guys that were helping that night (2 guys for all) were doing as much as they could, so dont blame them. Blame me if u must! Stop blaming some imaginary people cause they werent there. I did that party, and two guys were just doing what they are supposed to do. and from 3 hours spent here u are not able to comment a place as big as 14 000 m2 cause u didnt even se a piece of it.
When u went to munich (?!?) the bill got higher.
So i am supposed to find it behind my ears or what? Well i even agreed to that, but what then?
What happened, why didnt we hear after that?
I mean, what the hell did u think when u went to Munich, and telling that i was stoned and drunk. And your side of the story i hear for the first time here. On public forum. Totally distorted!
I mean, we talked about it when u were in Munich, why didnt u say then nothing.... Im now already a bit mad on you. i feel betrayed now! We should talk all that in person, but if not, at least on private channel. But you dissed here a lot of people (including me) for no reason at all. Without any previous talk with me. Thats not what friends do! Remember this!
I never owned anybody nothing and dont want that in future as well!
So
PICKUP THE PHONE, OR WE CANNOT MAKE ANY AGREEMENT!
And please
CHANGE THE TITLE OF YOUR POST CAUSE ITS INSULTING AND WRONG!!

Yes Faxi man please Delete this post or change the name at the very least. It really dosen't make you look good to have these kind of talks in public! I dont know what you hoped to gain from it, you and Slovenia dont need this kind of promotion. I hope all can be worked out,
