Hehe told ya it was silly.
Here's the complete "instrument" list:
Plastic bowl (kick)
Plastic bowl with rubber hose tied across (bass)
Bottle with pressurized air (hats)
Rubberglove (snare)
Book (snare2)
Rubber band (arpeggio and melodi)
Small vacuum cleaner (comp sound with cool aliasing and motor speed up sound)
Plastic tube (the pizzicato like comp sound),
A big plastic matte (the cool woosh sound)
A rubber ball for cleaning ears! (the short reverse sound)
And my friend saying "Ihhh" (the pad/chorus)

I love that!
thats an amazing track
How would you begin to synthetically model these sounds? wouldn't you have to model the shapes of the sounds...
like making a VSTi of an oboe...
you have to model the reed, the shape of each key and its placement and the bell (the bottom, wider bit)
I can understand creating a kick and synthesised notes, but creating truly organic sounding sounds is another story completely!
Peace

you can just try to use a very good synth like absynth... but before you can try to make corresponding sounds you must master the synth itself, which is a bit hard path. still i do believe you can get very similar sounds, althought of course you can never reproduce the exact sound... but hey if you "play" those "instruments" twice, you'll get two similar, but diferent sounds... maybe that's what makes them special
did i make any sense?lol :X |

Thx alot people!
Making real sounds with synths is very hard, but theoreticly its possible. Especially with additive synthisis becase you have 100% control of the harmonics, but you would need thousands of sinewave oscillators, and many multistage envelopoes to have enough possibilities.
The problem with making real sounds is not the synths, but the humans ability to define what makes a sound real or not.
Theoreticly you can draw a 100% real sounding piano sound in a waveeditor. Its also possible to draw 100% realistic images in paint.
It's all just one's and zero's buts it's to much for our brains to comprehend.
