Ive noticed an interesting parralel that can be drawn between usage of psychoactive substances and eyes in art.
Many people that I know, people who create art, has gone throu thematical changes after being influenced by listed above. Many of those changes can be expected and explained, such as colour changes, styles, themes and such. One thing bothers me thou and I havent yet managed to find an answer to this question.
People who were influenced by substances as ayuhasca, lsd, salvia and such started addind the 'eye' theme to their art. Im not talking about giving birth to the opening of another eye on the paper, it seems more than that. People who share nothing in common but their lust to the creation of art and expanded concious, start adding the same theme to their drawings, the theme might be totaly different but in a way it stays the same. I believe that part of explanation of the phenomenon is the process of collective consciousnes which raises to higher levels from the influence of those substances, advanced psionic abilities. but those can be only a part of the explanation, understanding the nature of the phenomenon might require much more than connecting together single pieces of information.

Thoughts? ideas? critique?

i agree.... but my DNA tells me more... unfortunately i cant say i paint images of consciousness as I feel some of it is about the demons we have to face... distractions... the eye thing... well lets just say it aint about the eye itself... but the dream... the Pineal gland can answer that for you...

something which may interest people as it has for sure a good point to this question...

Also we are in the final stage of 3d consciousness, but as my mother explains.. its just o the next stair well we will climb.

enjoy! again thoughts would be great to read!?

i always see "eyes" when I am in higher states of consciousness. The eyes are actual beings (sometimes eyes and faces can be mental projections too so watch out for those). If i concentrate on a pair of eyes, the rest of their face/body comes into focus. eyes are like the address of the entity in the interdimensional planes. So an artist like Alex Grey is only depicting what he and many others are actually seeing.

My experience and feeling tells about opening of inner "seeing" thus the image of one eye, the third eye... the eye that sees inwards.

Hallusinogens can be an opening to the innerwerse, universe inside... opening to the mystery of ourselves... Somethings that cannot be seen with our two eyes that see only the world outside.
