hey everybody
we are planning on going to the boom festival this summer, however we only have the option of flying to lissabon. This drastically limits on what we can take along for our camp. We would need some advice on where we can cheaply buy following things in lissabon:

-long bamboo sticks (2 meters+)
-Campingaz cv470 (gas canisters for cooking)
-Plastic water canisters
-any suitable fabric for sun protection

i guess we would need some sort of building supply/ home improvement store

thanks a lot
keep on stomping

Hello there!
Nice to see foreign people always interested in our little country!Too bad this almost only happens with boom festival.
First of all, you say Lisbon, or as in portuguese, Lisboa.
For your camping needs, you won't have any trouble finding that stuff, because in summer, all those big concrete buildings who sell stuff (SHOPPING CENTERS) get promotions on those articles and create big sections only for camping stuff. However, if you want a more specific store, i can point you to SPORTZONE, almost every shopping centers have one, and they have ALL the stuff you need and what you dont need.

To get to the shopping, just ask when you get to the city.
Good luck!

helo Konsti

chiado shopping center in downtown it's cool. there you will find a sportzone shop, and it's easy to get there, and probably the most confortable place to look for camping stuff. But i don't believe they have long bamboo sticks. for that i would recomend you to look for o big wharehouse named AKI (Bricolage stuff), and i recomend you to catch the subway to orient station, and then it's easy to find out.

cheers and have a nice and a safe trip mate,)

@ gordon
we are flying into lissabon, but we are leaving portugal from porto, so we gonna have a look at it on our way out.

oh another question i have:
i need some clean burning paraffin, for firestix and firepoi.
here in austria its a pain in the ass to get it, as nobody sells it due to ridiculously high firesafety regulations.
is there any chance i can get that stuff somewhere in lisbon?
