Namaste to everyone....
I ,had, sometime back noticed someone putting up a mix....it was really good....and on messaging him i had asked him how he did tht on hardware...
he said he had recorded using cdj's on the comp using wavelab.... now... how do u do that????....i have players and a mixer....how do i connect ito my comp ... and record using wavelab..or any other application....
any insight on this wld be of great help....
p.s i did use the search and dint get much info...hence the psot!

Well you would need a soundcard that has inputs so you can connect the mixer's main output to your soundcard..Then use any program like soundforge, wavelab, adobe audition etc and record the output while you make your mixes..

i believe every soundcard has an input!even the onboard ones!
its where u plug the mic or something like that.
u simply take the rca cable from the output of your mixer and istead of plugin it on an amplifier+speakers,u plug it to the input in the s/card.

if ur using external cd player and mixer simply connect ur mix out from mixer to audio input on ur soundcard since every soundcard supports an input, if ur using software based programme like tractor or something like that, simply route ur signal to wavelab internally via ur onboard soundcard mixer and record the mix,also in the former case u have to keep in mind which signal ur monitoring
