im thinking of getting a vinyl player for my old records...

i think smooth sound can be produced with filters and Eq so no need to press vinyl if you like the sound of it... just cut some sharp freqs?

44 months later...

Today, when I rip my CDs to listen in the iPod I'm only satisfied if ripped through Apple Looseless Encoder. Mp3 on high VBR still feels soulless imo.
