Hi Guys!

I have been wondering when this post and day would come...

I'm the guy behind psytuts.com... However, I have been preoccupied with work, in the real world I'm a web designer and developer.

I've also been busy with my own music. I'm preparing my debut set for February at the Organik festival in Cape Town.

Anyways, more about psytuts. I started the project with the idea that the website could be community driven and some of the "pros" would be willing to share some of their techniques, knowledge and do a short write up with some screen shots etc. I would then edit those "raw tutorials" into a easy to read "blog post", with sound samples and project file downloads to help the user reference their progression.

Why I haven't launched psytuts.com? The site is ready and functioning (running on the wordpress platform). However, when I presented the idea to a few artists they were eager at first, but when I followed up they were always too busy or wanted some financial gain.

Unfortunately, psytuts.com doesn't have any money (at this moment) that we can pay for tutorials. The idea would be that down the line with the help of advertising etc we would create a "author program" that would pay for in depth and cutting edge tutorials written by skilled producers.

My role would be as the editor of the website and I would also write a few tutorials myself, I'm not a super callagragalistic expiali docus pro, but I know a few things about production.

You can check out some of my music on soundcloud:

So... There is a reason why I'm "coming out of the closet" if you may... It seems like there is quite a lot of interest for this type of tutorial site, perhaps I was not using the right methods in contacting people or maybe the right people didn't know how to get involved.

What I'm saying is - Would you like to contribute your knowledge to help your fellow producer and get some international exposure (such business talk)?

If so please email me at: madpiper(at)gmail.com

If I get enough people together and some good tutorial submissions I will launch the site.

*Crosses fingers*

Kind regards,

Mad Piper

Thanks guys!

Excellent! Let's get things rolling, I have laid out a few ideas below for tutorials, if you feel confident to write about a subject please get in touch with me. madpiper(at)gmail.com

- Bassline tutorials (Fullon, High Tech, South African Psy, Dark Psy basslines)
- Sidechain bassline
- Percussion tutorials
- Lead Tutorials (i.e. How to create a popular lead sound)
- Atmosphere / pad tutorials
- The list is really endless....

Please remember you don't have to write a 500000 word essay on the subject, I'd say max 1 page of text.

Also note, your english doesn't need to be great, I will be editing the tutorials into an easy to read format.

Each tutorial author will receive full credit for their contribution. Each author will also have a profile on psytuts, with a bio, links to twitter and facebook pages etc.

Hehehehe... Ohhh no the taboo of psy secrets will be revealed to the peasants.

But seriously, the info is out here... It's just really hard to find for the average person. It would be more useful if it would be under 1 roof.

Also, a lot of the tutorials are not psy specific, or they're not easy to follow.           Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/themadpiper

No no no no!!

The site will be free for all, no registration needed.

It's just behind lock and key at the moment as it's not "active".

Sorry for the confusion.

I might integrate a "facebook connect" so it'll be easier to comment etc.           Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/themadpiper
