Not complete yet, getting there though.
The percussion is as deep as I like, and the bass still doesn't have the grind I want out of it, but its closing in there. Also have a couple parts that need to be mixed in live, because who wants to change a hundred midi notes velocity one by one?

Anywho, what do you guys think?

2 things ive thought:
bass could be better i think

Yeah, I don't care for that bass, just can't seem to get that grind out of it for some reason or another. I will just match it up with one of my other tracks, maybe it's just sitting on an odd note or something silly.

I meant that I felt the percussion wasn't deep enough, though I do like what is there. It probably needs something more driving/rhythmic to push things along which I think will also distract from the atmo as well.
I do agree with the snare though, and will take a look into that for sure, thanks for catching that!

When you are mentioning the atmo parts, are you referring to that stabby pad lead I have working? I'm thinking so, and it does get sort of repetitive I do agree with that.

I keep the mix in the front of my mind with my productions, how do you guys think it would work in that context?
I also have another version of that synth that takes a similar rhythm and amps it up to the point of out of control. I will try to stick that into the final build measures and post that with the update.

Also thanks a bunch for checking it out and posting your thoughts! I'll try to have an update today yet.           http://soundcloud.com/user4800749

I got the bass mostly sorted out, it was sitting on one of flat keys, hence the reason I couldn't get it to work right. Not a fan of the bouncy bass sound myself so it will be a grinding one by the time its finished.

I totally agree on the kick, 120%.
I never liked the running my percussion through the same fx, I think every instrument needs its own tuning, even if it is just a slight difference.

Had a massive headache last night so I only got into a few fixes, nothing worth updating over.

Thanks for the listen and ideas!           http://soundcloud.com/user4800749

Never heard of any of that, but I will go check it out. I am deep into the style coming out of SA right now, Frozen Ghost, Ironstein, Rubix Qube and so on, plus I still have a lot of hardcore in me.

Personally a lot of the psy I have heard is too complicated, maybe unnecessarily is a better description. I hear a lot of stuff where people just add more sounds just for the point of adding more sounds, to me it just takes away from purpose of the track.

I will probably carry on with the more techy percussive atmosphere to push through the song.

Thanks for the listen and advice!           http://soundcloud.com/user4800749

Here is my first meaningful update to the track, actually decided to square one most all of the percussion, bass is much closer to what I want, and I shortened it up a bit.

Have a couple days off here, so I'll be around to check out some more stuff here.           http://soundcloud.com/user4800749
