Bpm college of sound & music is shipping a new course for trance music producers.
Sound & Synthesis
The course contains An in-depth examination of different methods of synthesising sound by computer. Students learn the theory of the many different synthesis techniques which have been used historically and are in current use: sampling, additive synthesis, AM synthesis, FM synthesis, Karplus-Strong, granular synthesis, linear predictive coding, physical modelling on Reaktor5, etc. The focus is on synthesis of musical sounds, but some reference is made to speech sounds also. Students apply this theory through exercises using software such as Reaktor 5, ABsynth, Albino, and also hear the results in the context of pieces of music. Assessment is entirely by coursework exercises.

I think it s a great idea! I am in school right now for sound engineering. I have found it to be very beneficial to my music. There is so many little tricks that another person can teach through hands on experience. I was looking for a school in Israel to go to, but could find one that taught in English. Is this course in Hebrew? I’m guessing it probably is. But it would be nice to find a school like this in English. I know I should learn Hebrew. I’m learning, but it might take a while.
