Hmm,sucks...

But I see there are enough people here from Israel who want to buy stuff,so :

I think there is now end of year sale in "Kilombo",and maybe the people who wanted to go and buy monitors,we can still go together.I guess we could scrape "hanaha" on the way,and meet each other on the way.

Yalla ,mi ba liknot dvarim ?

get your self a faster laptop, considering i work with a old HP 1,66ghz dual core with only 2gb ram and i can manage but i tell you its no fun on win 7 but on XP it works.

So get a fast laptop, and get a m-audio midisport uno, some cheap midikeyboard with knobs and faders, and Run Asio4all drivers. Some good headphones and you are good to go IMO

My missus bought me a brand spanking new MacBook i7 off ebay, for 1345euros!

Peace out.

For that amount, you could have bought a plane ticket to the USA and bought one from the store for $1345.

lol ... haha

If you choose PC I recommend purchasing a computer from a company that builds them for audio. I used to build my own but you know this time I wanted to have a machine that was seriously considered for the task at hand. These guys who build PC's for music really look into what works with what etc. They research and that is worth paying a little more for IMO, to build myself would have been £200.00 cheaper but I felt it was worth it to get a machine that has been properly tested.

I did specify my own high end power supply. whatever you do always get a very high end PSU as all components will be powered by it and reliability and life expectancy is related to a quality a quality PSU.

I went for a Seasonic X series.

cheers

Well, computers built for audio... I've heard it means MAC

Anyway, I've bought Dell Inspiron with i7, 8 GB RAM and... Hooooolyyyyyyyyy shiiiiiiiiiii...

If I were you, would wait for Sandy Bridge CPU.

About audio interface- if you don't need many i/o, I can refer Saffire 6 USB- it has got great drivers. When I had old computer and Tascam US-428, change to S6 was big progress.

Off course, you can always buy RME Babyface or MOTU (USB/FW)

Old news, that might have been the case 5 years ago.

Use what you are most comfortable with that is the only consideration.

Rather than be on the bleeding edge of the technology, reliability counts for a lot, I suggest spending the extra $$$ on someone who knows what they are building and guarantees it rather than the next emerging technology (which never seems to give you the gains you thought you would get)
