I need a good sounding mixer with bpm display. The problem is that I don't have much money. Can someone please advise me of something not too cheap but not too expensive either ( average :) ) |

well the only one that comes to my mind is the Gemini BPM150 (most simple model, there are allso the BPM250,BPM500,BPM1000 which have more channels....
any way these are the specs for 150 model:
2 stereo channels 2 phono/line convertible; 3 phono; 3 line and 1 mic input Crossfader curve control and crossfader reverse (hamster) switch Punch in buttons for each channel Master output control Master & records outputs BPM displays and beat offset indicators Gain on each channel Cut feature for low; mid and high of each channel
don't know how much it costs in israel but i know that in the usa it costs 100-150 $ so i guess in israel it wouldn't be too expensive (but this is israel so who knows)

the model Guy was refering to costs about $450 in the USA so i think it will be very expensive here in israel.... it's features are :
2 Channel Mixer 2 line, 2 phono convertible to line 3 band eq on each channel cue button selector trim control for each channel BPM counter with LED readout Fader start for interconnect with any remote start type cd-players Small size.

Are there any add-ons that you can buy and maybe connect the m between a cd and the mixer that would act as a beat counter. I know it's a strange concept but that would solve the problem of having the beat counters on your mixer and getting used to them and then getting to a club and not having them.

Of course if you can't afford one of these things, there's is still a way to always know what the speed of the track you're playing is. if you start of with a track you know the speed of, you can work out the speeds of other by slowing down and speeding up that track and trying to mix in other track with the speed set to 0%. the gauge how much the track is sped up or down it's a pretty simple rul of thumb, +/- 125 - 135bpm if you increase the speed by about 0.8% you increase the track by 1bpm, 136 - 144 bpm increase by 7% = increase by 1bpm 145 - 150 bpm increase by 6% = increase by 1bpm above that I'm not really too sure (not much of a gabba fan ;) )
