Hello people of earth,I hope everything is good, and I hope, you had awesome holly-days, and a happy end of the world (that never happened) anyways, Im having issues with my mix, like always. Im always having issues with my bass and kick, is never fat enough, but I thing in this song the kick and bass, are not that bad.
The main problem starts at minute 5.37, sometimes, I listen to it, and it sounds cool, but some other times, I think the bass gets lost, in the middle of all my sounds, and leads,so I was hoping, if you guys could help me out, and lend me your ears for a sec, and maybe tell me what you think of the overal mix, or anything you could help me with! (I didnt post this on the workshop section, cuz, the track its not mastered, its just the mix), well thanks in advance. Have a great day!!!

indeed, kick and bass get lost sometimes and the rest of them not so fat.. think of the bass more as you design or choose the sounds who work with it, and the interaction between them. once you dou that you'll need much less 'additives' that may color your mix or even ruin it. after that look for the mid/side eq'ing, an interesting method to handle a mix in more detail because you can affect the frequency spectrum of the middle or/and side part of the mix, actually allowing you to eq in stereo and mono at the same time. |

i think that leads and pads always need a very precise eq in order to leave space for the "mid-highs" of kick and bass but you must not ruin your sound. kick and bass is not only low end. mid-high frequencies make them "visible". if you have some sounds with those mid-highs your kick and bass are hidden in the background.
sorry for my poor english i hope you understand

Thanks for your time!! I guess, I have to work in the eq, of my sounds, cuz Im having the same problem with all my songs, I didnt realize I had to eq my sound, and leave a space for the bass, in the mid section, I always thought a highpass filter in every sound, would help me with that, but I guess thats not the way! anyways, thanks alot again for taking up the time to help , and thanks for the tips, I will be working a lot in my eq, for now on. So thanks again!! I really appreciate it!. Have a great day!!! |
