You mean the x0xb0x guys are working out a deal with Roland for new diy kits of all their vintage synths? |

Yeah, no more another gaia or goia, or what the heck was it..
Its funny when people trying to sell this goia second hand, no one buys it.. You have to lower the price first all the way to zero..

Yes of course, to me its sound is very digital and thin, like plastic toy. In my case if i upgrade an outboard synth it must have something personal and deeper meanings in character. It can be VA synth (for example i had NL2X while ago) but sound must deliver..
Also i have microKorgXL at the moment and its brilliant for pads. There is no way i can get any benefit from Gaia, when i played with it in local music fair and also in local music store many times. It is shame because i think it looks alright, but the sound is something else..
Lets say its like a vst version of jp8000 (i had that one too while ago), so why do i need vst plugin size of Gaia

Hum....did some more reaserch regarding the Gaia and found out similar opinions to yours. It's a bit confusing as many people on foruns dont like the Gaia that much while some "specialized" media speaks fairly high of it.
For sure i need to try it before purchasing it...
I own a Vermona Mono Lancet and i was looking for resonable priced poly synth. Gaia looked like an obvious choice....well maybe not!!! I dont like the way Waldorf Blofeld works (each knob/button with many functions)and i want something with keys. Any sugestion? I want to avoid buying 2nd hand gear from the net but maybe that's the way to go. Or drop the keys and get a Nord Lead2x rack...

Its all about matter of taste, what suits to your sound field. You have to got the idea/image of your sound scene and what would fit. In Gaia there is some crispiness in sound i like but the thin and lifeless it has is too much for me. Some might find it killer synth when with proper effect added.. You just have to have the idea first.
Now i'm very curious about new bass station at the moment, and i'm getting korg volca keys beginning next month. so in few days.
Just go out and experiment with those synths alot before you buy, or at least search more sound samples/videos from internet. That way you will save a lot of money too, not buying and selling too much.
