thanks for the reply, karmafx synth delay can do that, loop forever no distortion but it looses the volume of the loop with time.

cheers

Audio damage Dubstation also has a loop button

just turn it on and whatever has passed through the delay will get looped until you press the loop button again.           all the dude ever wanted... was his rug back...

yeah, agreed, totally.

But, is the signal going on indefinitely, or is it a one shot sound?

Sorry im really tired at the moment, not sure i understand the question correct, you mean if you have a continuous decaying tone or a high transient sound like a snare?

I mean, any sound with a discrete number of samples - like a snare, but it could be anything - as long as the delay time is equal (there is an implied 1 sample delay when calculating the feedback level) or greater then the length of the sample then 100% feedback will not distort.

If we are talking about the output from someone playing a keyboard, where there is no telling whether they will play another note, then, no its impossible to guarantee.

And practically, for long MIDI sequences its probably pointless too, as the memory size becomes prohibitive.

for such kind of things i sample one tap and arrange it on my own - it just becomes a loop. adding automation, stuff like that. this is realy comfortable if you want 100% controll.

how about "analogic delay" or "bionic delay" with feedback of 50.0?
