A crazy problem with logic5 on pc

Configuration: logic audio platinum 5.5.1 on windows xp.
Soundcard: audigy LS with asio4all drivers.
Well... just after logic is installed, it works absolutely normal for a while. Then i can close it and restart. It will work. Then i can close again and restart again and it will work again etc...
The problem is – if i close logic and do not restart it for approximately 30 minutes, (no matter is the pc on or off), it will never launch again, until i reinstall it. Without any error messages, just doesn't start at all, like i haven't clicked on the shortcut. So i don’t have any ideas what it can be, maybe you have? thanx/ |

no. this didn't happen until i changed my sblive with kx-drivers for this shitty audigy ls (that doesn't support kx). also i added 128mb RAM ( don't think this could affect but who knows. pc's are beyond logic at all=) |

Make sure your MDD Direct Show.dll plugin has been removed from the file that Logic is in... If you move it somewhere else, that might sort your issue... (possibly)
Sometimes the ASIO for all has a hard time with the internal soundcard driver.. I have never been that big of a fan of the soundblaster series anyway, so I would've recommended not using that card to begin with, but if you don't intend on changing your sound card, why not go to the sblive website and inquire about getting some asio like drivers for the card.

Downgrate to Ver.5 and check all the above;-)
Over 5.0 crashes all the time.
Only import midi works without crash instead ver5.
Btw i recently upgrated my system with a 3Ghz and an assus board.
I started running again all my projects one on one on ver5.0 and Logic started to crash.
After removing individually all the plug ins,i realized that my tc native bundle,used for sidechain,did the job.
I had similar probz with z3ta sometimes.
There are similar probz on ver 7 running on mac.

never heard of this problem...
you click on the shortcut and Logic doesn't even start working ?
check Logic process in task manager ?
Sounds like a Windows related prob.

i think u have a problem on your task , on windows XP
press CTRL +SHIFT+ ESC and in the process tab chek if logic still runing on the task , after u closed it !!
if its still running , chek the lattest apps u installed deinstall things that u dont use , clean then in the regedit as well
then deinstal logic and resintall it again if the problem insist i would go for a format , always bether with a fresh computer

hi!
i have finally found the reason of this problem! It's a virus W32.Jeefo , that infects almost all exe files on a hard drive, if you get it. It just makes them 36kb larger. Most of programs continue working, but logic doesn't. There are two decisions - 1)kill the virus 2) make the exe file of logic (just after installation, until it is not infected) read only and hidden - after that this virus can't damage it - and everything will work fine=))) |
