cheers for that, although im left qite confused, i mean all i do iz set my monitors volume to defult and use the gain on ma interface, and use the level meters in the DAW, dont clip and thas that no>?

It is confusing at first.
But the best thing to do is read the whole article and ponder on it for a while.
It takes a little while do grasp the concept and the benefits it brings. |

Its not a tool for creating any form of music.
Its a tool for mixing and mastering....a tool the professionals use.
once your are set you can just write your track and mix it. While mixing you may find you don't even need to look at the meters because your ears are able to tell you that the level and balance is right. That the dynamics are right.
Until you try it you won't appreciate it.
But have you not heard how the quality of music production varies so much? yet cinema sound and DVDs have a much better quality and consistency?
