Offcourse it doesn't work for all intervals,you can't play all notes together and expect all of them to sound consonant.
They need to have specific frequency ratio,otherwise you get "beating" (which is wolf interval basicaly is) ,and that goes for absolutely every just tuning system that exists (existed maybe the more correct term?) in this world.
Equal maybe doesn't have the wolf interval,but it doesn't have the perfect harmonical state that just temperament has. From all the things I lost,that sandwitch cost me most :)

funny this oneŽs coming up during so many years of my isratrance membership..... ^^
just want to mention that i did detune my tracks to different natural events and their according frequencies.... to me... it was easily recognized that there for sure is a difference. and i have to say the difference was that appealing better, that i kept doin this for few years! hippishit or not, it just sounded way better to my ears and gave it a different touch. do whatever sounds good and dont give a shit about others opinion.
oh and i know what im talking about, i recently detuned my tracks back to 440hz now, which was just a plain pain in the ass ^^ sadly i did not save as i thought to keep 440hz now (project files) :/ sorry, no way to give an example here.... but feel free to write a track, keep everything midi or be sure you know the tune and detune it for comparison. i might find the bounced audio files, anyways i think theyre gone as my hd crashed :/
just a hint, if you want a dj to play your track keep in mind odds are it will sound horrible played next to a 440hz tune 
theres a lot of inspirational possibilities to give your track the right tune, just go for it and give a f*#k for any rules or opinion of others. youŽll benefit at the end for sure not talking bout ray now ^^
