Ok, this is a thing I never really got, but I think I should know at least a little about it.
In my project settings, I can switch between 16bit, 24bit ,... . This seems quite clear for me, and I actually know why its better to record with higher bits.
But in the same window I can switch between 44,1 kHz, 96 kHz and many more. I have a small idea of what this is about, but I'm not sure if I'm really right, so could anyone explain in a few lines, or drop a link where I can get some good infos?
Does it make sense to produce with 96kHz, or should I stick to 44,1. As far as I know, this is CD quality?!
THX for your help.

hi
check it hear:

also to records to cd you can only record at 16 bits although it is better to work the track at 24 bits. sames goes to using 96 or 192 khz if your sound card supports it

i listen in winamp in 24/64 (burnn it from cubase on 24 bit 64 k). i tyd 32 bit , you can hear it but there is some noises that coming somtimes so beter stay that way 24/64.
then you will see in the windows (in winamp) say 30H . |

All information I've been seeing have been claiming that using 48k is pointless since the resampling process will hurt the sound more than what you gain from the extra hz in less rounding errors.

lol , uccpd ! we already know what 64k sampling rate means , but who the fuck uses 64k ? and none of the sequencers allow 64k rate !
further more he wrote .... he tried 32bit and felt like some noise comming , so its better to stay @ 64k .....
dude has no idea , what he is talkin abt ! |

I DO .. !
Well some times i listen to my music in that high , you are right in one point that on 32 bit its start making some noises , true !
But .. if you tape it from the cubase to a audio file on this - 24 bit/64.000 kHz so all is fine (very high quality and the same with the 48.000) And its all change in the winamp player when its be come together (look in the winamp window) to 30H kbps / 64 kHz . Try it by your self .
Clean , high and perfect !

Same ?
No no ..
I didt meant the same quality in both of them
I meant that they are both on a high quality .
Then u can always listten much better .
Its all different (Also in The cubase) 16 bit , 24 bit
You can always hear the changes .
