OMW Presents:
Aura - @ The Mystic Jewell

Join us Saturday, September 2nd, for some smooth ethno dance beats and cutting edge psytrance from around the world. The Mystic Jewell is a new dance studio opening in Tempe, and we are going to break it in nicely with groovy beats to get your booty shaking. Audio Navigation will be provided by:

Hahn the Barbarian
Nick Synergy
Dionysos Pan Eros
Moksha Mind

It will be only $5 at the door, and the beats will be flowing from 7:00 - ??? There will be a hookah lounge and henna tattoo artistry available, plus plenty of dance space. We invite you all to join us in keeping the long weekend rocking along.

The owner of the venue has requested that attendees wear soft-soled shoes only on the dance floor. Otherwise, be prepared to get your stomp on in socks or with bare feet.

This way, by far, one of the best events we've had to date. The feel-good vibe running thick through the studio tonight really had the crowd energized, and the music being showcased here demanded release of that energy through mad stomping sessions on a nice, springy dance floor. It really felt, to me, like inviting an entire party into our living room (albeit much nicer) and listening to music together, and dancing, and just having fun. Some specific thanks follow, but I truly want to thank all the people who braved the elements and came out tonight. Meeting so many new people and seeing so many familiar faces - it's exactly what I've been waiting to see at one of our events. Obviously psytrance has a long way to go here in Arizona, but I'd love to see this area become the US winter psytrance capital through our indoor and outdoor events this winter.

Thanks to trance priestesses Kelley, Nikki, and Angellica for working so hard with us on the deco. Thanks to Missy and Lisa for keeping the hookahs going and making sure the vending was covered. Also huge thanks to Syntax for providing the visual stimulation for the night. You're right, most music could use visuals, but psytrance works extra well with visuals. Thanks to the crowd for keeping pumped throughout the night. Seeing so many bodies gyrating vigorously at very late (early?) hours to some driving, chunky, beefy beats is quite a sight to behold. I hope that everyone who came out had as much fun as we did. Thanks to the Audio Navigators who kept us moving and grooving until dawn. You guys are true shamans leading us on our voyage to the outer limits of consciousness through the universal stimulus of the beat. Stellar performances from all (minor technical details notwithstanding). My feet (and I hope everyone else's) are hurting, in a very good way. Oh, and I have to say thanks to Missy, as well, for allowing us to use her beautiful studio as the setting for our party. The ambiance created by the studio itself helped create the feel-good energy I felt coursing throughout the studio the entire night.

And, since everyone who was at this party was so curious, yes we will be doing another party at this location. Hopefully soon.           "Every generation needs a new revolution." ~Thomas Jefferson

Let me start by saying what a pleasure is was to take
part in the debut of "Aura" in many capacities and
aspects. It's refreshing and exciting to see so many
enthusiastic people here in phoenix discovering new
music and hearing some old faves.

Everyone there was all smiles the whole time, and the
vibe was absolutely incredible. I've never met so many
new people. It was great to see the diverse crowd
that showed up from the belly dancers, poi spinners,
henna artist, massage therapist, visual artists,
younger peeps, mature folks, our south of the border
amigos, wide eyed and grinning party people and the
die hard overmind friends, freaks and crew. wheww....
yes it was truly one of our best events. It seem like
they are just getting better and better each time.

A huge thanks to Syntax whose visuals really
complimented the space well, and our lovely hosts
Missy and Lisa. thanks as well to all the "behind the
scenes" mystic jewell and overmind works helpers who
all came together to make this a huge success.

I think all of us are eagerly awaiting our next
opportunity to chill over some great music, fine
sheesha and conversation, mix it up a bit and then
dance our asses off till the wee hours again!
peace and good vibes,
moksha mind

ps. I especially want to mention and thank everyone
who came out and showed such respect of the space.
Being on the cleanup crew this was much appreciated!
